Maven archetypes are an excellent way of allowing people to create instances of a particular type of project without having them to know or worry about all of the peculiarities and details. (And the latest incarnations of the Maven Archtetype Plugin are actually way better than I realized: somewhere down the line, they introduced the ability to use Velocity templates for parameterizing the output. There is a web-based application that I am trying to use and I have a new installation of Windows Vista and it’s not working with the web application. When I run the system checker for this online application I get an error “Run-time error ‘339′: Component ‘MSCOMMCT3N.OCX’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
