Delaware offers up this story about shared practices among the best high schools in the state (schools that add value, that is, not just schools that happen to have rich kids). What caught my eye was the inclusion of Indian River High School. Several years ago a few schools took seriously a governor’s campaign to boost literacy. Via Mick , I see that I somehow missed a Barbara Ehrenreich op-ed in Saturday’s NYTimes. Mick makes some good points but I’d like to focus on one small part of Ehrenreich’s story about a married couple brutalized by the economy.
